As we near the end of 2016, the days get shorter and the nights get longer here in the UK. So we need something for November to tantalise our taste buds, remind us of warmer times, but also something to sip on during these cold nights.
Sir Robin of Locksley does just that.
We first came across this wonder at The Gin Festival , where John Cherry, founder and creator, was showcasing his gin. What struck us initially was John’s passion for what he does. After giving us a detailed explanation and rundown of Locksley Distilling, we had the pleasure of tasting the Sir Robin. Wow. John has worked incredibly hard to create a true english sipping gin, it was an absolute delight to drink neat, which as you all know…is very important to us.
The familiar juniper taste gives way to a beautifully smooth elderflower sensation. This is what gives the gin its initial smoothness. The elderflower notes are quickly followed by a floral wave into a good strong gin finish. Perfect.
Why I think it’s so good? Not just the amazing taste, but this is one of the most versatile gins we have in our collection. Delicious neat over ice, but makes one hell of a martini. Over on the website, there are some fantastic cocktail ideas which we are still working hard to get through them all!

Here’s what John had to say when we caught up with him recently.
TGL: Describe your Gin in three words
J.C: Sippable, versatile, unique.
